Area Shoppers Converge on West County Mall

Two days after Christmas and consumers are not letting up!

The holiday season at the West County Mall...two days after Christmas. Finding a parking spot is a challenge as shoppers hunt for bargains and spend holiday gift cards.

According to the The National Retail Federation, nearly half of consumers planned to shop the week after Christmas. While many people opted to stay at home and surf for online deals, those that braved the crowds found that the "mall experience" is alive and well, at least in St. Louis county.

And many retailers were converging traditional brick-and-mortar shopping with the convenience of online by allowing customers to find and pay for an item on their web site while holding purchases for pick up at the store. Nordstrom offered customer pick up locations near store entrances.
