Sometimes Being Green is Only Easy For Kermit the Frog!
Two great green resources for people who want to learn more about going green.

Hard to go green? Don’t want to be “green” but want to do the right thing? Maybe you just do not know where to get started. There is help.
StLouisGreen.com, www.StLouisGreen.com, is the yellow pages for green businesses, jobs and green events in the St. Louis area. I was there and watched Craig Jung as he put his vision to work and created this online resource. He is dedicated to providing answers and help to anyone considering a greener way.
I visit this site a few times a week. There is so much to discover and the site is friendly, but then again Craig is very friendly. Get to know the site, volunteer and meet Craig and others in St. Louis who are discovering ways to live a greener, healthier life.

Craig and his collection of volunteers can also help your company find ways to incorporate a greener approach to your business. Many times this can lead to cost savings and healthier happier employees.
When you visit the site you will find:

Companies & Products - leading you to outlets for Fashion Beauty and Health, Food, Building Products, Green Builders, Recycling and as Craig says “Everything Else Green”.
Events & Activities – great place to find green and informative events as well as a place for you to post your event.
Jobs & Education – this is such a great resource. Though the listings are limited as new green job opportunities are still coming of age, the education opportunities are tremendous.
Consider taking this site for a test drive and even consider showing up or volunteering for an event. You will enjoy your time and the people you will meet.
St. Louis also has another great green resource, the Earthways Center, a division of the Missouri Botanical Gardens. You can get your hands dirty or just hear some great ideas, and you will definitely see their activities listed on StLouisGreen.com.
We know what a great resource we have in the Missouri Botanical Gardens, but the efforts of the Gardens extends way beyond displaying their garden stock. They are truly educators and are intent on providing access to everything green and sustainable. Their Earthways Center website has great information and provides a schedule of their varied learning sessions.
Learn to compost or start a garden plot, find out where there are tax credits or loans for your energy efficient improvements, attend one of their ongoing festivals and events. My favorite, the annual Green Homes & Great Health Festival, www.greenhomesstlouis.org, is coming up on Saturday September 24th from 9am to 5pm. I know I will be there meeting people who install solar panels, provide gardening help, demonstrate different kind of light bulb choices and “Everything Else Green”.
Glenda Abney, the Earthways Center Director, has surrounded herself with such a great staff of employees and volunteers. Visit their website, take a class or get involved; you will be happy you did. They even have a green hotline, call (314) 577-0246 or email to greenresources@mobot.org with your questions about finding green products and services, evaluating green claims or planning your green home or lifestyle project. A tremendous resource.
