Depression May Be Affecting Your Physical Health

Women who experience depression have a high correlation to cardiovascular disease.

Are you a woman who lives with feelings of depression? Could your depression be affecting your relationships at home, work or school? Have you experienced bereavement, trauma or abandonment issues? Do feelings of depression affect your overall functioning?

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), depression is the primary cause of disability worldwide. Those who suffer with depression may be more sedentary due to lack of motivation. Do you find yourself in bed or on your couch as much as possible? Are you unmotivated to complete small tasks? Hence, minimal movement is a major contributor to cardiovascular disease. When depression is moderate or severe the risk for physical health issues increase.

A depressive episode may be categorized as mild, moderate or severe. Those who experience repeated depressive episodes may also suffer with anxiety symptoms . Have your sleep and eating patterns changed? Are you suffering with feelings of guilt or low self worth and poor concentration?
