Meet Our One Dime at a Time Recipient: Five Acres Animal Shelter

Whole Foods Market gives 10 cents per bag to customers who re-use their own shopping bags for their purchased groceries. This program reduces our impact on the environment and supports local nonprofit groups. Throughout October, November and December, customers will have the choice to accept their cash refund or donate the cash back to our store’s chosen nonprofit organization, Five Acres Animal Shelter. Five Acres Animal Shelter is a no kill shelter in St. Charles and finds homes for over 600 dogs and cats each year. In addition to the adoption program, they also have a pet food pantry for low income pet owners and a youth education program. For more information, please visit www.fiveacresanimalshelter.org.
