Henry Elementary Earns National Recognition

Henry Elementary in Ballwin was one of 337 schools nationwide to be named a Blue Ribbon School by the US Department of Education.

It was my honor to present Henry Elementary in Ballwin with a resolution and flags flown over the state Capitol this week to commemorate Henry being named a National Blue Ribbon School by the US Department of Education. Before presenting the resolution, I was able to watch a fun and energetic musical performance by fifth grade students. All of the students did a wonderful job, and I was very impressed by their efforts.

The National Blue Ribbon School Program honors public and private schools that achieve academic excellence or make significant gains in student learning. Henry Elementary was one of eight Missouri schools and 337 schools nationwide to receive this prestigious award in 2014.

Henry Elementary met the “Exemplary High Performing Schools” criteria and was also named a Gold Star School by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education earlier this year. This statewide award is based on similar criteria to the Blue Ribbon Program.
