Principal Dr. Gina Piccinni explains, "At Carman Trails we value a welcoming and caring community. We believe that children learn better when they feel connected and cared for at school. 'Hi' Five Friday is an activity that brings attention to how we acknowledge and greet each other. Every Friday we give a high five or a smile and wave to each other. Kids and staff have been excited about it and it has caught on quickly because kids love to be acknowledged and love to give high fives. Even the adults are enjoying the recognition between each other. We hope it is one small gesture that brings attention to a big concept."
