Police Captain Gary Hoelzer stated in an email that the incident was caught on a police cruiser dash-cam video just after 2 a.m., Oct. 1.

Officer Ronnie Nicoletti responded to a call for a wrong-way driver heading southbound in the northbound lanes of I-270 between Page Avenue and Dorsett Road with several near misses, Hoelzer explained.

While driving northbound, Nicoletti began a zigzag pattern to keep other motorists behind his patrol car, Hoezler stated. Nicoletti then saw the pick-up truck in the fast lane, heading toward him at at 60 mile an hour, so Nicoletti reportedly moved into the path of the pick up truck, which came to a stop in front of his patrol car.

Hoelzer said the officer arrested the driver for driving while intoxicated.
