Local Churches and Organizations are Serving Up Love and Kindness to the Greater St. Louis Community

Christian believers across the St. Louis metro area will be joining together on October 11 and 12, 2014, to put their faith in action.

Christian believers across the St. Louis metro area will be joining together on October 11 and 12, 2014, to put their faith in action and serve their neighbors. Over 45 local churches will be hosting more than 250 community-based, family-friendly service projects in the St. Louis area.

Serve St. Louis is supported entirely by Christian churches, organizations, and companies representing multiple locations and denominations. The weekend will be the second of an annual region-wide event to connect churches and individuals in a joint effort to serve the greater St. Louis community through local missions.

“I think telling people that we care, reaching out and doing something and not just saying something - I think it’s so much more powerful than just talking about it,” said Chris Shank, who volunteered with Serve St. Louis last year. “A lot of people are doing good, but we don’t always serve together like we could be. [Serve St. Louis] is a chance for us to come together and join forces and do a great good in the community.”

Local churches and organizations will be hosting projects to meet practical needs in the community, providing more than 4,000 individuals with the opportunity to participate. Serve St. Louis will encourage people of all ages to bring their heart and hands, skills and smile to an impactful weekend event, seeking to make the metro area a better place to live.
