Manchester Arts, the new local arts council based in Manchester, is pleased to announce the prize-winning photographers who participated in the recent ‘Focus: Manchester’ photo competition.
The winners were announced during an opening night reception Friday, May 17, which was attended by more than 150 people. During the weekend-long exhibit at the Manchester United Methodist Church, nearly 1,000 people viewed the exhibit of 150 photographs.
Prizes totaling $1,000 were awarded in four prize categories. Award winners in the ages 5 to 11 amateur category were: Phoebe Finnestead, first place; Radu Nistoroiu, second place; and Ingamarie Northrip, third place. Award winners in the ages 12 to 20 amateur category were: Natalie Hoeferkamp, first place; Hayveyan McGowan, second place; and Erin Harbstreet, third place. Award winners in the ages 21 and over amateur category were: Rick Randall, first place; Lee Presser, second place; and Casey Carrington, third place. First place in the 21 and over professional category was awarded to Beth Goyer. A People’s Choice Award, chosen by all exhibit visitors by secret ballot, was awarded to Marianne Kaempfe.

Manchester Arts congratulates and thanks all of the participants and viewers of its first-ever major visual event. The prize-winning photographs can be viewed once more in a special ‘encore’ photo exhibit, opening Sunday, June 16 at 1 pm. In addition to the prize winners, the exhibit will also include many other photographs of merit chosen for special recognition, with nearly 60 photographs on display.
The exhibit will be free and open to the public every Sunday afternoon beginning June 16 through July 14, from 1 pm to 4 pm. The exhibit is located in the second floor city council chambers at the Manchester Police Facility, at 200 Highlands Blvd. Dr. in Manchester, MO.
