Manchester Honors Veterans This Veterans Day

A ceremony is scheduled at the city's new Veterans Memorial off Henry Avenue at 11 a.m. Friday.

A ceremony is scheduled at the city's new at off Henry Avenue. It begins at 11 a.m. Friday.

Manchester's Director of Economic Development Franz Kraintz tells Town and Country-Manchester Patch the public is invited to the free event. 

Kraintz said it will be about 30 minutes and a "solemn moment of remembrance and reverence for the sacrifices made by all veterans" will take place at 11:11 a.m.

Kraintz plans to recognize the time of 11:11 a.m. on Nov. 11, 2011.

"This is a once in a century happening, when all the times and dates line up," Kraintz told Patch.
