Manchester Police Raising Money For Former Detective

The Manchester Police Department is asking the public for help after the untimely death of a detective.

The  is asking the public to help the family of a detective who died an untimely death, leaving his wife and four children behind.

Manchester Police Detective David Wayne Prouty, 37, died on May 24, reportedly of complications from surgery.

Prouty was a firearms instructor, master taser instructor and a recent member of the Major Case Squad, according to the Manchester Police Department.

Now Manchester police are holding a benefit spaghetti dinner from 3:30 to 8 p.m., Friday Aug. 5, at , 567 St. Joseph Ln., in Manchester.

All proceeds will be donated to Prouty's family.

The dinner will includes spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, dessert and drink. The cost is $10 per dinner. Only cash and checks will be accepted.

Memorial T-shirts will also be available for $15 each.
