Additional Stormwater Funds Allocated

The board voted to allocate an additional $36,507.56 in funds for the city's stormwater program development, taking the new total of the project from $99, 546.64 to $136,054.20. Craig Wilde, the city's director of public works, previously told board members the request by the consultant service working on the city's Stormwater Project Identification and Design Program came because the project required more resident interaction and work than initially planned. The additional funds would be for Howard R. Green Company to complete the contract as initially proposed. Those funds have been appropriated in the 2011 budget, as stated in documents provided to board members.

Maryville University Grandstand

wants to build a permanent grandstand on its current baseball field, Weber Field, located on the southeast end of the campus. The grandstand would included just over 200 permanent seats.

Alderman Fred Meyland-Smith, who also serves on the Planning and Zoning Commission, told board members that there are a number of reasons, including cosmetic and safety enhancements, why the grandstand should be considered. He said the grandstand would be along the field that sits below the grade of the parking lot. Meyland-Smith also said as far as intrusion to the public, the closest residence is  2,400 feet away. Meyland-Smith said the proposal received unanimous approval by the Planning and Zoning Commission. No vote was taken Monday night by the board of aldermen, but it could be voted on at the next meeting.

Clayton Road Project

The board is considering authorizing a $49,860.38 contract with engineering firm Crawford, Bunte, Brammeier for the firm to begin surveying phase three of the Clayton Road Resurfacing and Pedestrian Enhancements Project. That is the part of the project that would build a path over Highway 141 to Town and Country Crossing. No vote was taken and it will likely be discussed and possibly voted on at the next board meeting.

Wasabi

The new Wasabi sushi restaurant coming to Town and Country Crossing is requesting a permit for outdoor seating. No vote was taken Monday night by the board, but it could be voted on at the next meeting.

City Pavement Damage Settlement

During  the Mason Valley Sanitary Relief Project by the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, pavement and concrete on a sidewalk suffered damage. MSD's contractor, Fred M. Luth & Sons, is offering monetary compensation to the city of Town and Country in the amount of $5,140 as a settlement for the damage. Craig Wilde , director of public works, said some of that money would go to repair the damages that he said are mostly cosmetic and the rest will be held in the city's road fund reserve. Wilde said he has spoken to homeowners near the area in question and they are accepting of proposed repairs. No vote was taken on accepting the settlement Monday night by the board of aldermen, but it could be voted on at the next meeting.
