Missouri Tax Free Weekend Begins Friday Aug. 2
Here are five things you should know if you are heading out this weekend to buy school supplies, clothing or electronics as Town and Country and Manchester kids head back to school.

Here are five pieces of information on theΒ Missouri Department of Revenue's websiteΒ that might help if you plan to buy back-to-school items for the upcoming school year.
- The sales tax holiday in Missouri isΒ Friday, Aug. 2 - Sunday, Aug. 4.
- Some items, including clothing, school supplies and computers are exempt from sales tax for this time period.Β
- You can find aΒ list of cities hereΒ that have opted out of participating in the tax-free weekend. Town and Country and Manchester are onΒ this list. This means state sales tax will still be waved at stores, butΒ city sales tax will still be collected.
- St. Louis County is participating in the sales tax holiday. Find countiesΒ which opted out here.
- The sales tax exemption is limited to:
- ClothingΒ β any article having a taxable value of $100 or less
- School suppliesΒ β not to exceed $50 per purchase
- Computer softwareΒ β taxable value of $350 or less
- Personal computersΒ β not to exceed $3,500
- Computer peripheral devicesΒ β not to exceed $3,500
