New Neighborhood, Energy Efficiency Top Town and Country Agenda

The Town and Country Board of Aldermen could take action on a number of issues Monday, including moving forward with a new neighborhood and a new, energy-efficiency loan program for homeowners.

The architectural review of a new neighborhood is back on the Town and Country Board of Aldermen agenda Monday night.

At the last meeting, some board members were not on board with the design of some homes in the proposed Estates at Town and Country Crossing. The new neighborhood of 65 homes would be located at 1000-1272 Town and Country Crossing Dr.

Some board members felt the homes would not sell well in Town and Country and argued that they homes did not meet required city standards.

The last meeting ended with several board members asking the developer to come back with different options of homes for board members to consider. The company left saying it would consider aesthetic changes to some of the houses the board had concerns with.

Board members could vote to approve the architectural review of the development Monday night.

Board members are also set to vote on participating in St. Louis County's Residential Energy Efficiency Home Loan Program called St. Louis County Saves.

The program offers low-interest home loans to homeowners to make energy-efficient home improvements.

The City of Manchester recently began participating in the program.
