Police Blotter: Rash of Thefts in Town and Country

In the last week, thieves have targeted items left in Town and Country cars. A recently stolen credit card was found after a police chase by St. Louis police. The following information was supplied by the Town and Country Police Department.

Take a look at the latest police blotter from the  police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

June 8 : 1200 block of Devonworth Drive

Burglary: Police report that just after midnight Wednesday morning, two males were spotted in the open garage of the home. When confronted, the two reportedly ran west toward Devonworth Manor Way, which is a new street off of Manors Way.  Investigators said one of the suspects called the other suspect by the name of “Bill” or “Ben.” Both were wearing polo shirts and shorts. Nothing was stolen.

June 7-June 8: 1600 block of Stifel Woods Drive

Property Damage: Between 5 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. Wednesday a family room window was shattered at the home. Investigators are not sure what was used to smash the window or of the motive. There is no estimate on the damage.

June 7: 13600 Sturbridge Road  

Felony stealing: Police said that between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tuesday a brass statue was stolen from a front yard. The stolen statue is part of a set of a boy and girl playing. The girl portion of the statue was reportedly stolen, with only the right foot remaining. The statue weighs between 150 and 200 pounds.

June 6: Various locations   

Theft: Early Monday morning, a series of thefts took place in neighborhoods from Topping to Weidman roads, involving unlocked vehicles parked in driveways. Investigators said a credit card that was stolen from one of the vehicles was used at a gas station in the City of St. Louis around 2:30 a.m. Monday. Then, on Tuesday, St. Louis Metropolitan Police pursued a car stolen from West County. At the end of the pursuit, the two males in the car fled, but police said a credit card belonging to one of the Town and Country theft victims was found on the front seat of the stolen car. Investigators said a wallet, iPods, an iPhone, a Garmin GPS, sunglasses and money were stolen when thieves hit the following locations:

12700 block of Topping Acres Street 
1000 block of Cabernet Drive-Strathmore Neighborhood
1400 block of Clairette Lane-Strathmore Neighborhood
1400 block of Margaux Lane-Strathmore Neighborhood
13900 block of Meursault Lane-Strathmore Neighborhood

The wallet was recovered in the Thornhill neighborhood. 

May 29: 500 block of Conway Village Drive  

Vandalism: Early on the morning of May 29, police said items were thrown into the hot tub of a home in the 500 block of Conway Village Drive.
