Police Catch Town and Country Burglary Suspects

Town and Country police credit the community for thwarting a theft and quickly catching two teen suspects.

Town and Country police said two teens wanted in connection with a burglary this week were caught and taken into custody.

Investigators said Graham Redington, 18, of the 1600 block of Foxleigh Court in Town and Country and a 17-year-old from the 4300 block of Lee Avenue of north St. Louis were arrested in connection to the crime.

Investigators said at approximately 2:45 a.m. Thursday, two people entered a home in the 12800 block of Horton Lane through an unlocked door and stole a laptop computer and a 46-inch large-screen television. The two then reportedly carried the items through woods to an adjoining neighborhood off of Topping Road.

Police said a resident noticed the two trying to load the items into their car which was parked in the 12800 block of Kent Manor and called police. When officers arrived, the two fled on foot, they said.

The investigation led authorities to Reddington and the 17-year-old. Both were arrested and booked on charges of first-degree burglary and stealing by Thursday afternoon. Investigators will seek formal charges with the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorneys Office. As of Friday evening, the two had been released from police custody.

Town and County police are crediting an alert and quick thinking neighbor for solving this crime.

"You are our 'eyes and ears,' and we are very grateful to the resident who alerted us in a timely manner. The stolen property was sitting in our investigative office before the victims realized it was stolen," Town and Country Police Captain Gary Hoelzer said in a press release. "That is a good ending!"
