Preschoolers Measure Speed Using Balloon Rockets, STEAM Learning

The Goddard School's Curriculum is Powered by STEAM, Fueled by Fun

Goddard Schools throughout the St. Louis, MO area held a week-long STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) open house that featured their preschoolers’ projects and activities.

Each day of the week introduced STEAM learning through various activities, which included evaluating the speed of balloon rockets, exploring motor skills by stacking cups on top of each other and chemistry while making ice cream soda floats.

These playful learning activities encourage the children’s natural curiosity while allowing them to explore meaningful topics in a hands-on, age-appropriate manner.

This event was designed to support the children’s development through strengthening their foundation and passion for STEAM learning while building their ‘4Cs.’ The ‘4Cs,’ collaboration, communication, creativity and critical thinking, are necessary skills no matter what career path the children choose later on in life.
