Weapons, School Zone and Solar Panels Before the Town and Country Board

The Town and Country Board of Aldermen is set to once again discuss a resident's request for solar panels, plus speed limits for a Mason Ridge School zone and the city's weapon laws.

The agenda is a short one for Monday night's Town and Country Board of Aldermen meeting, but back on it is an issue that has brought residents out to protest at a number of meetings.

The board is once again scheduled to discuss and possibly vote on one resident's request for a permit to allow solar panels on his property. The city's planning and zoning commison recommended the permit be approved, but residents in a nearby neighborhood have a different opinion. While the homeowner says the panels are environmentally friendly, some neighbors have told the board they oppose the addition calling it an eyesore. The matter is back before the board Monday night and a vote could be taken.

Meanwhile, the board is also set to discuss adjusting the speed limit on Mason Road in front of Mason Ridge Elementary School as the school works to create a school speed zone.
