Westminster Boys Soccer Team Brings the Love of the Game to Special Needs Children

Westminster Christian Academy boys soccer players volunteer with SPENSA.

When young men with a heart for service reach out to special needs children who share their passion for sports, something inspiring happens.

Last Saturday morning, Westminster Christian Academy’s boys soccer team volunteered their time and energy to aid SPENSA (Special Needs Soccer Association) in its mission to bring the excitement and fun of playing soccer to young people who traditionally have not had a place in the youth soccer system.

“Westminster athletes are encouraged to put their faith into action and serve their community through a shared love of sports, in this case, soccer,” says Head Coach Dan Legters. “We are excited to see our students give a little of themselves; that goes a really long way. We look forward to our next visit to SPENSA!”

The Westminster Wildcats have volunteered with SPENSA for the past 4 years.
