Westminster Christian Academy senior brings music to Berklee

Westminster senior, Christian McGhee

Christian McGhee, a senior at Westminster Christian Academy, recently had the opportunity to study with some of his favorite musicians while attending the Five-Week Summer Performance Program at Berklee School of Music.

McGhee’s five-week adventure immersed him in jazz, under the direction of esteemed artists Rick Dimuzio and Terri Lyne Carrington. As an aspiring musician and composer, McGhee relished the opportunity to be mentored by jazz greats who are also passionate educators.

A highlight of the program for McGhee was the privilege of taking private lessons with GRAMMY® award-winner, Carrington, and recording artist, Steve Langone. McGhee was also thrilled to have some of his own compositions performed by ensembles.

In a thank you letter to his mentors and supporters, McGhee related, “Over these past weeks I truly have grown much as a musician and composer.”
