Westminster Girls Tennis Teams Make Blankets for Local Children
Westminster Christian Academy girls tennis players make 32 fleece blankets for Project Linus.

The atmosphere was one of enthusiasm and camaraderie last Wednesday, as members of Westminster Christian Academy’s girls tennis teams gathered after school to make fleece tie blankets for donation to Project Linus.
Project Linus is a local non-profit organization whose mission is to provide love, a sense of security, warmth, and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need. They do this by collecting and distributing new homemade blankets to children at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, Mercy Hospital, Cardinal Glennon Hospital, Ronald McDonald Houses, and other organizations.
Jessica Kunkel, a sophomore at Westminster, commented on the unique service opportunity Project Linus provides,

“Making these blankets is a good way to help others while bonding with the team. It’s cool that we can come together for something other than a practice or a game and do something to help others."
Over the past two years, Westminster’s girls tennis teams have contributed 70 blankets to Project Linus.
