Westminster Hires Executive Director of Institutional Advancement and Strategy
Westminster Christian Academy hires Dr. Shelley Milligan as the Executive Director of Institutional Advancement and Strategy.

Westminster Christian Academy is pleased to announce that Dr. Shelley Milligan has been hired as the Executive Director of Institutional Advancement and Strategy. Milligan assumes the role for the 2014-15 school year having served at as Associate Provost at Washington University in St. Louis, preceded by a role as the university’s Assistant Dean of Arts and Sciences and formerly Associate Director of Development in Arts and Sciences. Milligan, who began her career as Director of the Annual Fund at her alma mater Washington & Lee University in Virginia, comes to Westminster with a breadth of experience in advancement and school leadership.
Milligan says she is grateful for the opportunity to join the Westminster community. “I’m very much looking forward to finding ways to serve in the school’s ongoing pursuit of excellence in education, and also to meeting the broader Westminster community of parents, alumni, and friends whose support of the school is reflected in everything from its state-of-the-art facility to the outstanding faculty at the heart of its mission.”
Milligan received a B.A. in English and French from Washington and Lee, a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration from Vanderbilt University, and a Doctor of Education degree in Higher Education Management from the University of Pennsylvania. This administrative role is an important one for Westminster at a significant time in its history and organizational development as the school enters a second major phase of capital fundraising. Milligan’s academic experience will also be valuable as she engages in strategic planning and key initiatives.

Head of School Dr. Tom Stoner says Milligan is a proven educational leader with a resume that is striking by the quality of her experience and education. “Shelley’s leadership in both advancement and academics at some of our nation’s finest schools will be valuable in her new role,” says Stoner. “We are thrilled that she will be using her considerable gifts to help advance our mission and serve families in Greater St. Louis, and her addition to our leadership team reflects our strategic priority of establishing Westminster as a distinctly Christian private school with world-class opportunities in academics, athletics, and the arts.”
