Westminster Senior Attends The Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders
Amanda Skeeters selected to attend three-day conference in Boston for student leaders.

Westminster Christian Academy senior Amanda Skeeters recently attended The Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders for a three-day conference in Boston.
Skeeters was one of a select number of students across the country to attend the invitation-only Congress.
The Congress was created by the National Academy of Future Scientists and Technologists with the intent of gathering the country’s finest and brightest high school students who aspire to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, and STEM fields.

During the Congress, students hear from Nobel Prize winners, award-winning scientists, and prestigious academic leaders. Former astronaut Buzz Aldrin delighted student attendees by speaking at this year’s event.
The Congress is an academic honors program and invitation is by academic nomination only. All attendees are selected based on their proven academic excellence and a passion for science or technology and must have a minimum 3.5 GPA.

Skeeters hopes to pursue a degree and career in geological engineering. She says the Congress was an amazing experience. “Hearing from leaders in science and technology both inspired and motivated me. Connecting with other student leaders was incredible. I made multiple friends I hope to stay in touch with.”
