Westminster Student Awarded Four-Year College Scholarship
Juhyae Kim receives a full scholarship to Swarthmore College.

Westminster Christian Academy senior, Juhyae Kim, was recently awarded a full four-year academic scholarship to Swarthmore College through the QuestBridge program. Kim was among the top three percent of QuestBridge student applicants to receive a full scholarship.
“Juhyae is a very bright and enterprising young woman,” says Kate Kindbom, Westminster college and career counselor. “She found the QuestBridge program while doing research for her college research paper in the middle of her junior year and took it upon herself to investigate further. She is an amazing young woman, and both the QuestBridge program and Swarthmore College have recognized that!”
QuestBridge is an online service that provides a platform to connect the nation’s brightest, under-served youth with leading institutions of higher education. The program links students to scholarship providers, enrichment programs, employers, and organizations to facilitate opportunities for students to excel despite obstacles.

Kim completed a rigorous application process to Swarthmore College, which required three letters of recommendation and several essays. In November, Kim was selected as a QuestBridge finalist and matched with Swarthmore College. She received a four-year academic scholarship, valued in excess of $250,000.
“It’s an amazing blessing, and I’m so thankful I found this opportunity,” says Kim. “I’m most thankful that because of this scholarship, my parents don’t have to worry about the financial burden of college.”
