Westminster Student Named National Finalist for Wendy's High School Heisman Award
Senior Zachary Hughes was selected as one of the top 10 finalists for the Wendy's Heisman Award.

Westminster Christian Academy senior Zachary Hughes was recently selected as one of the top 10 finalists in the nation for the Wendy’s High School Heisman Award.
The award was created in 1994 to recognize high school seniors who excel in academics, athletics and as a leader in their communities.
Each year, thousands of students apply for the Heisman award. This year’s program included more than 900 state finalists, and most recently, 102 state winners – one male and one female from each state. Hughes was also selected as Missouri’s top male for the Heisman award.

Following a national committee review of the 102 state winners, only 10 students were selected as national finalists.
As one of the top 10 Heisman award national finalists, Hughes will receive a gold medal, $100 Wendy’s gift card and a $2,000 donation to Westminster. He will also travel to New York City in December to participate in the collegiate Heisman weekend with the other 10 national finalists.
