Westminster Teacher recognized for Excellence in Teaching

Westminster Christian Academy teacher, Scott Vonder Bruegge, was awarded the 2016 Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award.

The success of every generation of students depends on the teachers who help shape them. One such outstanding teacher is Scott Vonder Bruegge, Westminster Christian Academy’s business and communication instructor.

Too often, the vital work that teachers like Vonder Bruegge do goes largely unnoticed. That’s why award ceremonies such as the one that took place at the Ritz-Carlton on Sunday, November 13, are so important.

Every year, Emerson sponsors the Emerson Excellence in Teaching Awards program, which recognizes more than 100 educators in the St. Louis metropolitan area (encompassing nine counties) who are examples of excellence in their field. Vonder Bruegge exemplifies the qualities that make an excellent teacher. Now in his 17th year at Westminster, Vonder Bruegge has served in a variety of capacities, including teaching journalism, yearbook, newspaper, video production, and more.
