Westminster We the People Team Advances to National Competition
Westminster Christian Academy's "We the People" team to compete in national competition in Washington, D.C.

The Westminster Christian Academy “We The People Team” demonstrated their exceptional understanding of U.S. constitutional government in The Missouri Bar-sponsored “We the People” state competition in Jefferson City on January 26. After an intense series of debates in the form of mock hearings, Westminster’s team was selected to advance to the national competition in Washington, D.C.
Nearly 50 students representing high schools from across Missouri participated in this year’s competition. The format included simulated congressional hearings in which students discussed a variety of governmental issues before a panel of lawyers, judges, educators, and political scientists.
“We the People” is a year-long program purposed to promote civil competence and responsibility among the nation’s elementary and secondary students. Westminster students spend first semester studying the main elements of the U.S. government and the second semester focusing on various facets of the U.S. Constitution in preparation for the State competition.

The team will travel to Washington D.C. to compete in the national competition, held April 22-25.
