Westminster's FIRST Robotics Team Ranks Third at St. Louis Regional Competition

Team 4256-Cyborg Cats place in top three teams at recent FIRST competition.

Westminster Christian Academy’s FIRST robotics team, Team 4256-Cyborg Cats ranked third out of 43 teams at the end of qualification matches at the St. Louis Regional FIRST Competition, held March 20 and 21 at the Chaifetz Arena.

The team scored the highest single match score for the regional competition. They were also awarded the Entrepreneurship Award, sponsored by Kleiner, Perkins, Caufield and Byers. Westminster’s team was recognized for the best display of entrepreneurial enthusiasm and demonstration of the vital business skills necessary to ensure a self-sustaining program.

Individual team recognitions were given to junior Brennan Murphy, the team’s chief engineer, for his selection as the FIRST Dean’s List Finalist for the region. Murphy will attend the World’s Competition at the end of April and compete to become one of 10 FRC FIRST Dean’s List winners.

Senior Ciarra Peters, sophomore Michelle Morley, and the Cyborg Cats’ facilities team also received a first place award for safety at the Saturday meet.
