Cars for Homes™, Habitat for Humanity’s national vehicle donation program, provides donors with a quick and easy process for donating cars, trucks, boats, RVs motorcycles and other vehicles to help build decent, affordable shelter in local communities. The vehicle does not need to be in working order to be accepted as a donation.

Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis has raised more than $38,0000 through the Cars for Homes™ initiative since the first donation was made to the affiliate in 2007.
Stone Soup comic strip artist Jan Elliot created the artwork for the program.

The Cars for Homes™ program distributes revenue from the sale of donated vehicles to local Habitat affiliates based on the zip code of the donor or to Habitat programs or affiliates specified by donors. Donors receive a letter documenting their tax-deductible donation.

“Recycling used or idle vehicles helps Habitat for Humanity fund its mission at the local level in communities across the country,” said Marcia Rundle, director of the Cars for Homes™ Program. “We sincerely thank donors from St. Louis and all Cars for Homes™ donors for their support helping families nationwide in need of affordable housing.”
