Area Papa John's restaurants recently presented a check for $74,272 to the Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
The donation is the result of an ongoing Papa John's promotion offering 40 percent off of regular menu prices at www.PapaJohns.com the day after a St. Louis Cardinals victory. To claim the discount, use the promo code "CARDSWIN." Papa John's donates 10 percent of the sale price to a Siteman fund for innovative research aimed at advancing therapies for patients.

"The support by Papa John's helps us accomplish these goals in an era of cutbacks to federal funding for cancer research. Lynn McQuillen, Papa John's vice president of operations, says the company is happy to help Siteman fund early-stage research that may not qualify yet for traditional grant funding.
