Community Corner

University Public Library Service Fair

The University City Public Library is hosting a Service Fair on Saturday, October 6, 2012 from 10am—12 pm in the Library’s auditorium.  The goal of the fair is to connect members of our community with new ways to contribute their time and talent.  Participants will have a chance to meet representatives from several area nonprofits, including: NAMI St. Louis, Alive Inc., Gateway Greening, World Pediatric Project, Voices for Children, and UCity Make a Difference Day.  They’ll learn more about the exciting work of these organizations and others, and find out what they can do to get involved.

UCPL’s Service Fair is part of a larger series of programs presented by the Library in 2012 called Building Common Ground: Discussions of Community, Civility and Compassion sponsored by the American Library Association and the Fetzer Institute: http://ppo.ala.org/commonground/.  We have been fortunate to partner with AARP Chapter 4048 University City/Clayton in this effort.
