Anita's Mental Health Tips
Women ask if they are experiencing feelings of depression, sadness, grief or am I a "bad" person?

Women often describe their feelings as depression, sadness or grief. They wonder if they are flawed individuals. As a therapist who specializes in women and girls emotional issues these are common themes heard in therapy. There are two types of depression: Situational depression, which is related to a situation. Clinical depression, which is chronic and persistent. Dysthymia is a form of depression, which is considered chronic and mild. Symptoms of Dysthymia may linger for two years or more.
Frequently, women come to therapy feeling hopeless and/or helpless. Often placing an name on their long standing feelings is the beginning of feeling better.
If you would like to feel better I would be honored to address your concerns.
