Central Library Cinema Presents: A Pryor Engagement

Central Library Cinema Presents, “A Pryor
Engagement,” a film series showcasing the films and comedy of Richard
Pryor.  Starting November 7th,
the film series will kick-off with Richard
Pryor: Live on the Sunset Strip

This evening will also showcase three local comedians performing
10-minute sets before the film as openers for Richard Pryor. 





Performing will be Nick Branson, Jack Daniels and
Kenny Kinds.  Branson is host of the local podcast, “Drunk and Nerdy” and also made the
finals of the River Front Times’ 2013 Standup Throwdown. Daniels, an observational social political comic, has a controversial
style in the same tone as his influences, Richard Pryor, George Carlin and Bill
Hicks. Kinds is an award-winning local stand-up comedian and the world's leading
authority on the St. Louis stand-up scene. He opens for a number of national
headliners, regularly hosts and emcees at the St. Louis Funny Bone, and
performs constantly at other local showcases and venues.



A film will be shown each Thursday in the month
of November through the 21st including Silver Streak (1976) and Blue
Collar (1978).

the Sunset Strip (1982) Rated R, 82 minutes



November 14th: Silver Streak (1976)
Rated PG, 114 minutes



November 21st: Blue Collar (1978)
Rated R, 114 minutes
