Children’s Author Raquel Hunter Returns to U. City Schools

U. City's 2018 Returning Artist Raquel Hunter will be honored during Feb. 8 public reception

University City High School 1996 alumnae Raquel (Smith)
Hunter, author of the popular children’s book series “Diary of Brave
Rave,” is the 2018 University City Returning Artist. Her literary work
explores diverse, positive and relatable characters for children to
enjoy and learn.

Hunter will be honored at a public reception on Thursday,
Feb. 8, 2018, at 7 p.m. in the UCHS Pruitt Library Media Center, 7401
Balson Ave. 63130 (use Jackson Ave. entrance). This event is free and
open to the public.

The Returning Artist Program, coordinated by the
University City Municipal Commission on Arts and Letters, brings
artistically renowned UCHS graduates to work with students and encourage
them to investigate careers in the arts. Past returning artists
included visual artists, glassblowers, writers, filmmakers, musicians,
actors, singers and dancers. More information about the Returning Artist
