The Sale itself takes place on Saturday, April 27th from 9:00 – 2:00 pm and Sunday, April 28th from 11:00 – 2:00 pm at the Heman Park Community Center located on the Corner of Pennsylvania & Vernon.

We need plant donations (perennials and natives please)! It’s been a late spring and we
need plants that are just starting to pop out of the ground! When you leave donated plants at Vernon Gardens shelter (in containers or plastic bags, please), identify yourself (the donor), the plant, species, color when in bloom, shade or sun loving

We need volunteers for an assortment of jobs. Potters are hard at work at Vernon Gardens shelter but they need extra hands.

We also need a digger or two with some prior training on how to safely dig plants from donor gardens for repotting at Vernon Gardens.

Anyone needed more information about the times that Linda Fried will be working at Vernon or who can help with digging; please contact Linda at lindafriedster@gmail.com.

In case you didn’t realize it, the annual Plant Sale is a volunteer driven effort that generates the most significant fund raiser revenue for U City in Bloom; it makes up approximately 84% of our special event total income - income that supports our 325 garden locations and container gardens. It’s our volunteers – as well as our plant loving shoppers – who make this event such a huge success!
