Margeret Hermes at the University City Public Library

 

MARGARET HERMES TO READ AT THE UNIVERSITY CITY PUBLIC LIBRARY

On Thursday, March 29, at 7 PM, the University City Public Library and Subterranean Books will present a reading by Margaret Hermes at the University City Public Library (6701 Delmar Blvd.).  Her new collection of short stories, Relative Strangers, won the 2011 Doris Bakwin Award and was called "A Stunning collection . . . every single story is vivid and memorable," by the judges. It was published by Carolina Wren Press. Her stories and essays have appeared in The Missouri Review, New Millennium, The Literary Review, and in anthologies such as 20 Over 40, and Under the Arch. Margaret grew up in Chicago and lives in St. Louis. She is the author of the novel The Phoenix Nest.  Copies of Relative Strangers will be available for purchase and signing after the reading.  Refreshments will be served.
