First Bank Employees Help Construct Dream Of Home Ownership

Bank partners with Habitat, FHLB to kick off volunteer blitz week in University City

In partnership with Habitat for Humanity St. Louis and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines (FHLB Des Moines), First Bank helped kick off volunteer blitz build week (September 22-27) at an on-site location in University City, Missouri.

Taking part in the build from First Bank was Angela Pinex, Community Affairs Officer, Lisa Blamy, Senior Vice President, Regional Manager, Metro St. Louis West Region, and Steve Feldmann, Mechanic in Corporate Real Estate. They were joined by eight other financial institutions to help a deserving local family realize their dream of home ownership.

In addition, Congressman Lacy Clay and University City Mayor Shelley Welsch were on-site on September 22 to celebrate the event.

The build represents the third in a five-year, five-state journey for FHLB Des Moines, its member institutions and Habitat for Humanity affiliates. The journey has included previous stops in Winona, Minnesota and Sioux Falls, South Dakota, with future builds scheduled in North Dakota and Iowa.
