Starbucks Will Give Away Free Coffee or Tea on Friday for Earth Day

Starbucks is giving away a cup of free coffee or tea on Friday in celebration of Earth Day.

According to a post on the company's website, a person who brings in a reusable mug or tumbler gets a free brewed coffee or tea. The tea can be hot or iced.

For people who don't have a travel mug or leave theirs at home and don't want to buy a new one, they can ask for a "for here" cup and Starbucks will pick up the tab.

During last year's promotion, more than 1.2 million people participated, the company said.
