HBA Donates $10,000 to Independence Center

On behalf of the Home Builders Charitable Foundation (HBCF), HBCF President Jim Brennan of McKelvey Homes (left) and 2014 HBA President Tim Martin of McKelvey Homes (right) presented a $10,000 donation to Steve Name, Independence Center resident, and Theresa Soebbing, Independence Center property manager.

The donation will be used for electrical service upgrades at Independence Center’s Lohmeyer Apartments and Stupp Apartments. The apartments are residential facilities owned and operated by Independence Center and house adults with serious and persistent mental illness. Independence Center’s mission is to provide a comprehensive system of high quality programs and services that assist adults in the St. Louis area with serious and persistent mental illnesses to live and work in the community, independently and with dignity.

The HBA is a local trade association of more than 500 member firms representing the residential construction industry. The Home Builders Charitable Foundation, the HBA’s charitable arm, is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing housing assistance to people or organizations with special shelter needs.
