Homers for Health Game Shows - Thursday, June 16

On Thursday, June 16, see your favorite Cardinals play hilarious game shows in front of thousands of fans at Ballpark Village!

The St. Louis Cardinals wives are once again hosting the Homers for Health Game Shows, presented by Laclede Gas and Fox Sports Midwest. The third annual event – to be held Thursday, June 16 at Ballpark Village – is led by Leslee Holliday, wife of Cardinals outfielder Matt Holliday and will benefit patients and families of SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital. The evening brings together thousands for an energetic night of fun as they watch their favorite Cardinals play game show parodies on stage.

Each year the Cardinals give up one of their nights off to help this cause by playing game shows in front of the crowd with winning contestants who purchase a β€œWanna Play” ticket. This year’s featured games are fan-favorite β€œClubhouse Feud,” a version of the popular game show, β€œFamily Feud,” β€œWed to Red,” from the 70’s television series the β€œNewlywed Game” and β€œExtra Innings,” a one-on-one couch-style interview, followed by a Cardinal and contestant playing β€œWheel of Chance” to win prizes.

β€œAt Laclede Gas, our energy fuels the community every day and what matters most is enriching the lives of the people we serve. We appreciate the Cardinals and their families spending a night to help the kids at Cardinal Glennon,” said Steve Lindsey, president of Laclede Gas. β€œThis is why we are proud to once again be a presenting sponsor of Homers for Health and K’s for Kids and third-time sponsor of the Homers for Health Game Shows event, along with Fox Sports Midwest.”

Tickets are for sale online at glennon.org. Other fundraising efforts at the Homers for Health Game Shows include a Silent Auction, an β€œAutographed Ball Pull” where fans can pay $50 for a guaranteed autographed baseball and a Mystery Photo Booth. The Mystery Photo Booth ticket is a guaranteed photo with a Cardinals player, coach or legend. The ticket assigns a time slot, but no one knows who is behind the curtain until they step into the booth.

Hosts for the evening are Jim Hayes and Brad Thompson of Fox Sports Midwest, KMOX St. Louis Cardinals Radio Network broadcaster, John Rooney and NOW 96.3’s Curt Copeland.

Donations to the Homers for Health Game Shows benefit the Children’s Fund to meet the immediate needs of the hospital. A portion of the funds from 2015 and 2016 will go to renovating the fourth floor inpatient cancer care unit at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon. The area is part of the original structure of the hospital and plans are in place to create a beach-themed, child friendly environment. This atmosphere will help alleviate stress on patients and families while they are in the hospital for extended periods of time.

The evening will be highlighted by three half-hour episodes broadcasted on Fox Sports Midwest throughout the summer. For air dates and more information about the Homers for Health Game Shows visit glennon.org/h4h-gameshows or call 314-577-5605.
