Woman Who Killed Bicyclist in U City Sentenced

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Emily C. Hagan, 30, of Kirkwood was sentenced to three years in prison Tuesday after a plea deal in connection to a drunken-driving accident that killed a bicyclist in University City last year.

Hagan, of the 400 block of North Clay Avenue, will be eligible for parole after serving about one year of her prison time, the Post reports.

As previously reported by Patch, 

The Post-Dispatch reports that police say Hagan had a blood alcohol content of 0.262, more than three times the legal limit, when she rear-ended bicyclist Samuel Scott on Feb. 3, 2012. Scott, 19, was reportedly riding home from a Dewey's Pizza shop where he worked as a cook when he was struck, then later died from his injuries.
