Legal Services Of Eastern Missouri Adds Paralegal In Volunteer Lawyers Program
Melissa Slator new paralegal in the Volunteer Lawyers Program

Melissa Slator of University City, has joined Legal Services of Eastern Missouri (LSEM) as a paralegal in the Volunteer Lawyers Program (VLP).
Slator will help coordinate placement of cases and further the development and outreach of the program. She will also assist with recruiting new volunteer attorneys and their training.
Slator has more than 30 years of paralegal experience. She was most recently a research assistant at the George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University. Slator has a BFA in journalism from Southern Methodist University in Dallas.

She lives in University City, Missouri with her wife, Dr. Tonya Edmond, Associate Dean for Diversity at The Brown School and a Faculty Fellow in the Office of the Provost.
Since 1982, LSEMβs VLP and its pro bono attorneys have provided pro bono civil legal assistance to thousands of low-income and elderly individuals in the St. Louis region.
