The New Verizon Smart Store Hosts Hopeline Check Presentation

Verizon Wireless presents $5,000 grant to the Violence Prevention Center of Southwestern Illinois

Verizon Wireless, operator of the nation’s largest and most reliable 4G LTE network, presented a check to the Violence Prevention Center of Southwestern Illinois to honor their work in the Southwestern Illinois community at the new Verizon Smart Store in Fairview Heights, Ill.

The $5,000 grant, presented by HopeLine from Verizon, is to support prevention and education programs at the Violence Prevention Center of Southwestern Illinois (VPC). VPC will use the grant to support the services they provide in schools through their Prevention & Education Program to various high schools in their three-county wide area including St. Clair, Monroe and Randolph counties. These programs include a presentation focused on choosing healthy relationships.

Additionally, Verizon is hosting a HopeLine phone drive at its remodeled Fairview Heights Smart Store location through Wednesday, July 15, 2015. Customers are encouraged to bring and donate their no-longer-used phones and accessories, in any condition from any wireless provider. Verizon will donate all collected devices, equipped with text messaging and minutes, to domestic violence shelters for victims in need.
