U City Police Investigate After Hearing Gunshots or Fireworks; Find Nothing
University City Police officers investigated a noise that sounded like gunshots or fireworks early Saturday morning and found nothing.
A contributor emailed University City Patch at 12:26am on Saturday, June 18 saying he heard "a round of gunshots" near his home off Delmar in the Loop area. He added that "loads" of police officers were swarming around Delmar.
In an email to U City Patch Monday morning, Captain Michael Ransom wrote:Â "Officers on patrol heard what could have been fireworks or shots fired in the area of the municipal parking lot at Kingsland and Loop North. Officers investigated and found no evidence of any crime nor any victims."
