Promotion At Legal Services Of Eastern Missouri

Susie Lake has been promoted to Staff Attorney in the Children's Legal Alliance

Susie Lake has been promoted to Staff Attorney in the Children’s Legal Alliance (CLA) at Legal Services of Eastern Missouri (LSEM). She previously served as a temporary attorney in that unit.

Lake has a strong educational advocacy background. In addition to serving as an intern in LSEM’s CLA program as well as the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Civil Rights in Washington, D.C., Lake was a teacher at KIPP Renaissance High School in New Orleans and at Teach for America, Therrell High School in Atlanta.

Lake has a B.A. in English from Wesleyan University and a J.D. from Washington University School of Law. She also studied English at Oxford University. She lives in University City.

LSEM’s CLA program provides quality, child-centered legal and social support for disabled children who need assistance with educational issues. Cases include assistance with suspensions, expulsions, school enrollment and special education matters for children.

Legal Services of Eastern Missouri (LSEM) has provided high quality legal assistance in civil cases to the low-income community for more than 50 years.
