St. Louis HELP Seeks Volunteers for May 14 Equipment Drive
Volunteers may choose to assist for one or more hours at the event that opens at 9 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m. at 14 sites in metro St. Louis.

FEBRUARY 26, 2016, St. Louis, Missouri⦠Volunteers are needed to assist at the equipment donation drive conducted by St. Louis HELP on Saturday, May 14, at 14 different locations in greater St. Louis.
The charitable event seeks volunteer drivers, donation check-in helpers and equipment unloaders.

The nonprofit St. Louis HELP organization collects, cleans and reconditions used home health equipment for no-cost loans to people suffering from accidents, illness or disability.
Every year, St. Louis HELP assists more than 5,400 people and their caregivers by providing the home medical equipment they desperately need.

βWe collect, recondition and loan manual and electric wheelchairs; scooters; walkers, crutches, canes; hospital beds; portable commodes; elevated toilet seats; lift chairsβββand moreβββfor free,β says Executive Director Laura Cannon-Singer.
All equipment donations to St. Louis HELP are tax deductible. In 2014, St. Louis HELP received a prestigious βPoint of Light Awardβ from Points of Light, the volunteer management organization founded in 1990. St. Louis HELP is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that loans equipment to any person for any health-related reason including those temporarily disabled by injury, illness or surgery; those awaiting insurance company approval; those whose own equipment is being repaired; visitors to St. Louis who canβt transport their own equipment; and terminally ill persons.
The organization recently expanded its 5,000 square foot warehouse in Olivette by 2,000 square feet to accommodate increasing requests from people and families throughout metro St. Louis for free loans of revitalized home health equipment that the non-profit organization provides.
