Symposium for Civic Engagement

Thought Leader on Social Innovation to Open the Symposium for Civic Engagement

David Bornstein, New York Times writer and thought leader in social innovation, will deliver a keynote address on “The Possible Nation: Practical Ideas for Building a Better Society” on Monday, March 30th, at 4pm in Bauer Hall, Room 210. Bornstein has written several books on social entrepreneurship, including “How to Change the World”.

The lecture is free and open to the public. It will be followed by a book signing and reception at 5pm. During this time, the Symposium for Civic Engagement will take place on the 2nd floor balcony of Bauer Hall. Students, faculty, and staff will be available to talk with attendees about their civic and community engagement initiatives, ranging from community-based courses to service projects to long-term partnerships with impact in St. Louis and beyond.

The Gephardt Institute for Public Service is sponsoring the evening’s events along with co-sponsors Apple, Brown School, Dell, and Skandalaris Center.
