Verizon's network improvements keep STL connected

Verizon customers in more than 50 counties in Missouri and southern Illinois will notice data speeds up to two times faster

ST. LOUIS (Oct. 6, 2015) – Verizon Wireless customers throughout eastern Missouri, including the greater St. Louis metro area, are benefitting from multiple recent network enhancements, the company announced today. These improvements, which have been made to the existing XLTE and 4G LTE networks, include the addition of continuous AWS (Advanced Wireless Services) spectrum, dozens of new cell sites and multiple antenna improvements.

Verizon initiated the network improvements to areas of eastern Missouri, including the greater St. Louis area, in early in 2015 and will continue into early next year. Customers in more than 50 counties in Missouri and southern Illinois will notice data speeds up to two times faster. Major cities impacted by these improvements include the St. Louis metro area, Farmington, Cape Girardeau and Poplar Bluff in Missouri, and Carbondale, Marion and Mount Vernon in Illinois.

“We know our customers in the area expect the best wireless network experience and our recent network improvements prove that we are committed to delivering excellence,” said Brendan Fallis, president – Kansas/Missouri Region, Verizon Wireless.
