Women and Relationships-All or Nothing?
Women who grew up in dysfunctional families may view relationships in absolutes.

Women who grew up in dysfunctional families tend to view life in absolutes. In relationships, be it parental, spousal, friendship or employment related being in charge is the first priority. When we feel as though we are in charge we feel safer. Relationships may be viewed as all right or all wrong. There is no in-between.
Success is another arena where absolute thinking may rule. We may not put much value on partial success. Acknowledging that real success comes in small increments is not an option. We may not try anything too challenging for fear of failure. Maintaining this rigid way of thinking may contribute to low self-esteem and depression.
It is hard to view our lives as they are when looking through all or nothing eyes.
