Women Moving Beyond Survival

Women who were abused and/or neglected learned to survive. Now it is time to learn to live.

As a psychotherapist, who specializes in women and adolescent girls issues I meet many strong individuals. However, when we have put most of our energy into learning how to survive we do not know how to live.

Our past becomes our present when we have lived in denial for much of our lives. If we were abused or neglected our body and mind was assaulted. We have lived with a wounded spirit. Whether it was emotional, physical or sexual abuse/neglect you likely may face trust issues, low self-esteem, depression, eating disorders, alcohol/drug use disorders and relationships issues. We constantly seek to fill the emptiness.

Instead of being an onlooker you can learn to participate in your life.
